14th February 2010, the UAE Ministry of Economy issued the Ministerial decision No. 66 for the year 2010 amending decision 541 of 2009 regarding the collection of publications and registration fees for trademark applications.
As per the decision, the publication and registration fees will be collected separately as follows:
§ Publication fees must be paid within 30 days of the acceptance notice on the condition that the applicant must publish the trademark in the Official Bulletin and 2 daily newspapers within the following 30 days otherwise the application will be considered as abandoned.
§ Registration fees must be paid within 30 days from the last date of the opposition term defined as 30 days from the last publication whether in the Official Gazette or the local newspaper.
